Asia Cup 2022: 3 reasons why Pakistan can beat India in the high-profile clash
Pakistan and India will square off in a titanic clash on the 28th of August in Dubai.
1. India’s lack of depth in the death bowling department
India suffered a huge blow earlier this month as they announced the omission of star bowler Jasprit Bumrah from the Asia Cup squad owing to a back injury. The news broke days after another Indian star Harshal Patel was ruled out for the continental tournament due to a rib injury.
The pair of Bumrah and Harshal has been two of the best death bowlers in the shortest format of the game with their ability to strangle the batters in the latter stages of the match. India will be light in the death bowling department and will be relying heavily on veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
While Arshdeep Singh has shown tremendous potential so far in his nascent international career, he will be under extreme pressure in the blockbuster clash against Pakistan, who boasts of some swashbuckling power hitters in their batting line-up. Pakistan have a clear advantage in this area heading into the anticipated clash against the arch-rivals.
