3. Shakib Al Hasan can climb the ladder in the all-rounder list
Ahead of Asia Cup 2022, the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya, Shahid Afridi, and Shakib Al Hasan are the players to have scored over 300 runs and taken 15+ wickets in the tournament’s history. Shakib might surpass all of them in wickets tally, but it is impossible to get past Sachin and Jayasuriya’s batting records in this tournament.
The legendary Sri Lankan all-rounder and the Master Blaster have amassed 1220 and 971 runs which Shakib cannot surpass as he is way behind the duo. The southpaw has only managed 402 runs between 2010 to 2018 including three half-centuries.
The maximum Shakib Al Hasan can manage to do is surpass former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi who has 532 runs to his name in this competition.
