Team India is set to take on Pakistan in their opening encounter of the Asia Cup 2022. The match will take place at the Dubai International Stadium on August 28 (Sunday). Ahead of the match, both camps are indulging in practice sessions for the big contest.
Meanwhile, the official Twitter account of the Indian cricket team on August 26 (Friday) uploaded a series of photos on their account, probably hinting at the Men in Blue’s playing XI against Pakistan. The ten-image post started with a photo of KL Rahul and skipper Rohit Sharma together, followed by Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan, and Arshdeep Singh.
Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, and Deepak Hooda were not seen in the post

Interestingly, the post did not have the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, and Deepak Hooda who are also a part of the Indian squad for the Asia Cup. The post is being widely shared on social media platforms ahead of the big encounter.
As mentioned above, team India will face a spirited Men in Green squad who have been playing well in the limited-over formats recently. Skipper Babar Azam, along with senior batter Mohammad Rizwan, will look to repeat their antics with the bat as they did in the 2021 T20 World Cup at the same venue.
However, they will be missing their ace pacer Shaheen Afridi who has been ruled out of the competition due to an injury. Similarly, team India will also be missing the services of their premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel. The Indian fans will want their star batter Virat Kohli to fire with the bat once again.
The right-handed batter completed a gritty fifty during the last encounter against Pakistan and will want to continue his good show against the arch-rivals. Meanwhile, the opening encounter of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup will be played on August 27 (Saturday) between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Both teams will be looking to open their account with a win in the competition.
