3. Rohit Sharma vs Haris Rauf
The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma has been one of the best batters of white-ball cricket over the last decade or so. He is a natural timer of the ball and can clear the boundary ropes with ease. Having played 132 T20Is and close to 400 T20 games, he is one of the most experienced players in the tournament.
Rohit, however, has been not particularly among runs lately, averaging only 24.16 this year in T20Is. On the other hand, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has performed well with the ball across formats, in recent times. He bagged back-to-back three-wicket hauls against Netherlands in the recently concluded ODI series and looks to be in a rhythm.
Rauf has 42 wickets in 35 T20Is with a strike rate of 17.5 and best match figures of four wickets for 22. In the absence of Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, Rauf might be given the responsibility to keep the Indian openers quiet.
