Asia Cup 2022: Predicting India's 15-member squad for the tournament
India won the previous two editions of the Asia Cup in 2016 and 2018.
6. Deepak Hooda
The batting all-rounder, in his short international career, has been impressive, especially in the shortest format. He is called the ‘hurricane’ for his ability to strike big and change the tempo of the game. He made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in February in Lucknow.
After an impressive IPL 2022 with Lucknow Supergiants (LSG), he was named in the squad for the five-match home series in June. Hooda scored 451 runs in 15 games at an average of 32.21 and a strike rate of 136.67 in the IPL.
Hooda played both the games against Ireland in June and scored a 47* and 104. In seven T20Is, he has scored 215 runs at an average of 71.66 and a strike rate of 170.63. He is also a handy off-spinner who can chip in as the fifth or sixth bowling option for the team.
