3. Sri Lanka 6/10
Sri Lanka might have won the Asia Cup five times, but they would be heading into this year’s competition as one of the underdogs who seek redemption and rediscover their lost glory in world cricket. The Lankans have a solid batting line-up and have the ability to play attacking cricket in this form of the game.
The former champions have some explosive batters in the form of Danushka Gunathilaka, Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dinesh Chandimal, etc.
However, the batting is inconsistent and if the top order does not contribute, the middle order would be put under pressure early on and the opposition might take advantage of Sri Lanka’s not so secured middle and lower order.
