The 15th edition of the Asia Cup is set to take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from August 27 to September 11. It was initially planned to be held in Sri Lanka, but due to the ongoing economic crisis in the country, it was moved later to the middle-east. There will be six teams, divided into two groups of three teams each, participating in the tournament.

India, Pakistan and Qualifier are in Group A, while Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in Group B. Teams finishing in the top two from each group will qualify for Super 4, which will be played in a round-robin format among the four teams. The top two sides from that stage will qualify for the final.

The opening game will be played between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in Dubai, and the Super 4 will be played between September 3 and September 9. The last edition of the competition was also held in the UAE in 2018, and India are the defending champions. This will be only the second time after 2016 that the Asia Cup will be played with the T20 format. India have won the competition seven times, Sri Lanka have won it five times, and Pakistan have won it two times.
