India and Pakistan produced yet another memorable match. The arch-rivals turned a low-scoring match into a highly electric contest. Performance wise, India had a mixed bag. The bowlers made the most of the helpful condition and toppled Pakistan for just 83 runs. None of the Pakistan batsmen could withstand India’s stunning bowling performance. Ashish Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah dismantled the top order while the likes of Hardik Pandya, Jadeja, and Yuvraj Singh cashed in on the chances and got better of the opposition. Fans hoped for Rohit Sharma to bat in his usual way and help India wrap the match inside 10 overs. Ajinkya Rahane was brought as a replacement for Shikhar Dhawan who was nursing some niggle. Rahane is a trusted batsman but he could not face Amir’s heat. The Mumbai batsman was dismissed for a golden duck, becoming the second casualty of the highly dramatic first over. The dismissal was similar to that of Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli was India’s answer to Mohammad Amir’s brilliancy. Kohli came in with the scoreboard reading 2/2. The right-hander then batted cautiously and took full responsibility of the ongoings to enable India win the game eventually. Kohli faced a tough challenge from Amir, who looked like an unstoppable force yesterday. The Delhi lad treated him with respect and initially did not try to be flamboyant, playing him out smartly. He contributed 44 runs in the match-winning partnership of 68 runs stand with Yuvi to help India win the match with much fuss. He was, however, unfortunate to miss out on a half-century after he was dismissed at 49 in the 15th over.

Suresh Raina struggle with fast and swinging delivery is pretty well-known. It was the same case yesterday also as the wobbly Raina did not have any answer to Amir’s 145 kph thunderbolts. Hardik Pandya was yet again impressive and returned with career-best figures of 3/8. Pandya, just like Bumrah and Nehra, took full advantage of the seaming wicket and did not let Pakistan batsmen make a comeback after been pushed on the back foot initially. Pandya first scalp of the day was the experienced Shoaib Malik. He then took the last Amir and Sami off consecutive deliveries to halt their Pakistan innings. Pandya got an opportunity to bat and finish the game when Kohli departed with India needing 8 runs to win. But he was unsuccessful and was dismissed by Sami for a two-ball duck.

Ravindra Jadeja was in his usual colors yesterday. Jadeja bowled tight and economically. The Pakistanis had a hard time scoring runs off his bowling. His efforts fetched him two wickets at the cost of only 11 runs. In addition to his miserly bowling, he was also very electric in the field. It was impossible for the ball to go past him in the inner circle. Jadeja was equally good in the outfield too and played part in running out Afridi who was caught short o the crease due to his bullet throw.

<p>Jasprit Bumrah once again proved his credibility with the ball. Bumrah has been making waved ever since he made his debut. Bumrah showed no effects of the high-voltage Indo-Pak game and magnificently. He finished with 1/8 in three overs. Bumrah started off with a maiden over. In his following over, he got his first success of the day after he dismissed Sharjeel Khan. The subsequent over was a wicket maiden.</p>
<h4><strong>11. Ashish Nehra – 8.5:</strong></h4>

<p>Ashish Nehra has provided India with the wicket-taking option in the power plays. Nehra struck in the first over with the wicket of Mohammad Hafeez. He was, however, hit for 13 runs in his following over but made a good comeback in his last over of the three over spell to finish with figures of 1/20.</p>

<p>India and Pakistan produced yet another memorable match. The arch-rivals turned a low-scoring match into a highly electric contest. Performance wise, India had a mixed bag. The bowlers made the most of the helpful condition and toppled Pakistan for just 83 runs. None of the Pakistan batsmen could withstand India’s stunning bowling performance. Ashish Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah dismantled the top order while the likes of Hardik Pandya, Jadeja, and Yuvraj Singh cashed in on the chances and got better of the opposition. Chasing just 84, India did not get off to an ideal start as the top order was blown away by Mohammad Amir’s wonderful opening spell. But Virat Kohli (49) remained ice cool during the tense time and steadied the ship. Kohli stitched a match-winning partnership with Yuvraj Singh (14*) to guide India home with five wickets to spare.</p>

<p>Fans hoped for Rohit Sharma to bat in his usual way and help India wrap the match inside 10 overs. However, the scenario was completely contrasting as a highly motivated Mohammad Amir made him go back to the pavilion in just two deliveries. ‘Hitman’ was welcomed with a pinpoint yorker which struck him right in front of the stumps. A strong LBW appeal was raised but was turned down. However, he wasn’t lucky on the second occasion as he was beaten by a sharp yorker which trapped him leg before for a duck. These two balls were probably the toughest he has faced in recent time.</p>
<h4><strong>2. Ajinkya Rahane – 2:</strong></h4>

<p>Ajinkya Rahane was brought as a replacement for Shikhar Dhawan who was nursing some niggle. Rahane is a trusted batsman but he could not face Amir’s heat. The Mumbai batsman was dismissed for a golden duck, becoming the second casualty of the highly dramatic first over. The dismissal was similar to that of Rohit Sharma. The ball sharply came back from close to off stump line and hit him plumb in front of the stumps. Rahane’s dismissal had made the situation quite bothersome for the Indians.</p>

<p>Virat Kohli was India’s answer to Mohammad Amir’s brilliancy. Kohli came in with the scoreboard reading 2/2. The right-hander then batted cautiously and took full responsibility of the ongoings to enable India win the game eventually. Kohli faced a tough challenge from Amir, who looked like an unstoppable force yesterday. The Delhi lad treated him with respect and initially did not try to be flamboyant, playing him out smartly. He contributed 44 runs in the match-winning partnership of 68 runs stand with Yuvi to help India win the match with much fuss. He was, however, unfortunate to miss out on a half-century after he was dismissed at 49 in the 15th over.</p>
<h4><strong>4. Suresh Raina – 2:</strong></h4>

<p>Suresh Raina struggle with fast and swinging delivery is pretty well-known. It was the same case yesterday also as the wobbly Raina did not have any answer to Amir’s 145 kph thunderbolts. The left-hander stayed in the middle for just 4 balls before he scooped a simple catch to Wahab Riaz at mid-on. As a result, India were at a worrisome 8/3.</p>

<p>A sloppy innings of 14 runs off 32 balls won’t sound very impressive, especially in a T20 game. However, the situation in which he came in and the manner in which he lend his support to the confident Kohli were highly appreciable. Yuvi looked uncomfortable but managed to survive till the end. His 68 runs partnership with Kohli was the turning point for India.</p>

<p>Hardik Pandya was yet again impressive and returned with career-best figures of 3/8. Pandya, just like Bumrah and Nehra, took full advantage of the seaming wicket and did not let Pakistan batsmen make a comeback after been pushed on the back foot initially. Pandya first scalp of the day was the experienced Shoaib Malik. He then took the last Amir and Sami off consecutive deliveries to halt their Pakistan innings. Pandya got an opportunity to bat and finish the game when Kohli departed with India needing 8 runs to win. But he was unsuccessful and was dismissed by Sami for a two-ball duck.</p>
<h4><strong>7. MS Dhoni – 7:</strong></h4>

<p>MS Dhoni also did not get much opportunity with bat as the match was almost over by the time he came in. Dhoni came in and quickly completed the formality of getting the eight runs required to finish the game. It was yet again Mahi who hit the winning runs for India. His captaincy was outstanding and had the usual surprise element in it. His bowlers backed his decision to bowl first. His decision to introduce Yuvi ahead of Ashwin also worked. Behind wicket, he took two catches and effected a brilliant run out to dismiss Shahid Afridi. In all, it was a highly satisfying day for the skipper.</p>

<p>Ravindra Jadeja was in his usual colors yesterday. Jadeja bowled tight and economically. The Pakistanis had a hard time scoring runs off his bowling. His efforts fetched him two wickets at the cost of only 11 runs. In addition to his miserly bowling, he was also very electric in the field. It was impossible for the ball to go past him in the inner circle. Jadeja was equally good in the outfield too and played part in running out Afridi who was caught short o the crease due to his bullet throw.</p>
