Once aspiring cricketer Tejashwi Yadav sworn in as Deputy CM: Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s youngest son, Tejashwi Yadav was sworn in as the Deputy CM of Bihar today. Tejashwi Yadav was elected from the Raghoupur Vidhan Sabha seat of Bihar Legislative assembly. He will be in charge of road construction and building construction departments.

However, this promising young politician has a cricket connection. He was once a member of IPL franchise Delhi Daredevil in its 2009 edition. But, he never played a game for them. According to rumors, the then long-haired aspiring cricketer was paid 3 to 4 million that season. When his father, the witty Lalu Prasad Yadav, was asked about his son’s cricketing career he said, “At least (my son) will have the opportunity to serve water to the players”.

After a failed cricket career, he moved his attention towards politics. He is now a part of the Nitish Kumar’s coalition cabinet. But, he also has an opportunity to resurrect Bihar cricket which is not recognised by BCCI.

Tejashwi Yadav is the youngest son of nine brothers and sisters. He tried to be different from his father and sought a career in cricket. Tejashwi Yadav played only one first-class game, two List A matches and four T20s. His top score was 19 and bowling figures of 1 for 10 were hardly anywhere close to being impressive. No wonder, Tejashwi Yadav’s cricket career never really took off.
