After Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, there is another Bollywood-Cricket couple in the making. The rumor of India’s swashbuckling batsman KL Rahul dating Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty has been doing rounds in the cricket fraternity for quite some time now. Though both Rahul and Athiya have maintained a dignified silence on their relationship, their Instagram posts, holiday pictures and lovely captions on each other’s posts speak a thousand words.

Currently, KL Rahul is present with team India in the United Kingdom for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, scheduled from August 4 to September 14. Ever since the Indian team assembled for their four-month England tour in May, the fans have been looking out for clues to find out if Athiya is also traveling with the cricketer.

Since the UK tour is a long one, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allowed all the players to travel with their family. Though Rahul and Athiya haven’t posted their picture together, the fans have been matching the background of their pictures and are keeping a close watch on their Instagram stories to pick the hints that can confirm the actress’ presence in the UK.

On Saturday, the 28-year-old actress finally confirmed her presence via her official Instagram handle. Athiya took to Instagram to share a picture of what looks like tea on her story, and tagged Rajal Arora, saying, “bless you.” Notably, Rajal is the producer of the Indian cricket team and is present with the Men in Blue in the UK tour.

KL Rahul didn’t form a part of WTC playing XI

Though Rahul has traveled with the Indian team to the UK, the batsman failed to make it to the playing XI of the WTC Final against New Zealand. There was no place for the 29-year-old as India decided to go ahead with a settled batting order in the form of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rishabh Pant.

Though Rahul wasn’t a part of the India Test XI, he is expected to make it to the team during the five-match Test series against England.
