Australia A v South Africa A review: Wade leads Australia A’s winning streak: Maintaining a clean and regular record at the tri-series Australia A continues its winning streak. The 5^th match of tri-series between South Africa A and Australia A ended with an easy win for the Australian side as they went on to win the 5^th ODI by 108 runs. Leading the side this time was Matthew Wade scoring 130 off just 106 balls runs followed by Handscomb who scored 52 runs.

Wade led from the front as the other batsmen failed to score against the South African side of the A-team tri series in Chennai. The defeat means that the South Africans will need to win the next match against India A with a bonus point, after their 3 consecutive losses in the tri series.

Wade was named the captain in the absence of Usman Khawaja who was rested, and he carried the responsibility well for the Australian A side. Winning the toss, choosing to bat first and coming out to bat at number 3, it all went accordingly with great results for the acting Skipper. Wade played a smashing innings with seven sixes and nine fours, 78 off his 130 runs came straight from then boundaries. Wade did not allow the South African bowlers to attack for as long as he was at the crease. The Australian A innings ended at 272-10 in 47.2 overs as for the South African A bowlers Tsotsobe grabbed a 3-wicket haul in his 9 overs giving 50 runs. Elgar, Hendricks and Viljoen took 2 wickets each. The bowlers struck, but Wade’s innings overshadowed all their efforts and Australia a were successful in making a large score.

The South Africa A chase lacked a batsman who could anchor the chase, only Dean Elgar performed with the bat scoring 64 off 85 deliveries supported by Khaya Zondo who scored 47 off 49. Nathan Coulter-Nile once again delivered a brilliant spell of 7 overs taking 2 wickets and giving away just 8 runs, the two wickets came off back-to-back deliveries. The new ball bought South Africa A at 37-3 and afterwards, spinners Ashton Elgar and Cameroon Boyce took charge of the old ball. The two spinners shared 6 wickets amongst themselves as the South African innings came to a crumbling end from 142-4 to 148-8. Quinton de Kock and Wayne Parnell were missing from the South African side following the flu. South African A innings ended at the score of 164/10 in 37.1 overs.
