There was some extraordinary action at Perth as Australia managed to get a lead of 43 runs. While India lost Ajinkya Rahane in the first over, Virat Kohli went on to register his first century of the tour. Rishabh Pant and Hanuma Vihari also made some contributions. The lower order as expected failed to make it count and were sent back to the pavilion in quick succession.
When India came to bowl, the pacers produced a sensational spell of bowling after letting down initially. Aaron Finch ended up with an injury while Shaun Marsh and Marcus Harris were dismissed cheaply. Former Australian spin wizard Shane Warne lauded the Indian bowlers for their tight bowling on the surface.

Warne asserted that the Indian pacers quartet was absolutely phenomenal. Further, he praised the quality cricket that had been played throughout the test match. He felt that Day 3 is going to be a deciding factor in the game. The former cricketer conceded that Australia hold an edge but things could get even with some quick wickets.
“Terrific bowling by the Indian quicks on this pitch. High class & fascinating test cricket. There’s nothing like watching the drama unfold of a test match. Australia ahead, but if India stay patient they could get 3 quick ones here . They need them as 250+ will be very hard to chase,” Warne posted on Twitter.
