<p>And at last, we saw an end of a run-fisting series with a win of India in which there were 11 centuries scored by different batsmen and total 3159 runs scored from 12<sup>th</sup> January to 23<sup>rd</sup> January. From rise of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in Indian cricket to arrival of Mannish Pandey and Jasprit Bumrah as we can say that these are the positives for India I the series while Steven Smith was once again looked deviant from others alongside George Bailey and David Warner who have also performed well in the series to help Australia to win the series by 4-1.</p>

<p>For a man who needs no introduction as we know him as “The Pocket Size Dynamo” who now became certainly an adroit with his thinking while constructing his innings and numbers are with him which proves that he really is now considered as the main stray of Australian batting line up in the ODI format along with skipper Steven Smith and George Bailey. <p>As we call him “Hitman” and rightly so Rohit Sharma has been certainly in the form of his life as far as the ODI format is concerned and that’s why he named as ‘Man of the Series’ which eventually India lost by 4-1. With bravura, he barraged inexperienced Australian attack and notched up two centuries and one score of 99 in the recently concluded 5 match ODI series. He has scored 441 runs in 5 matches with an average of 110.25 and a strike rate of 101.61. Rohit has created and broken many records throughout the series and recently got his highest ranking in ODI cricket as now he is at no.5 in the latest ICC rankings of batsman for ODIs.</p>

<p>Whether it was the case of grooming Manish Pandey in the last ODI or playing some cameos down the order as a wicket-keeper batsman with his quick skills behind the wicket, he certainly fits in the team rather than Matthew Wade who had an average series with both his gloves and bat and this is why MS Dhoni has been picked as a keeper in the combined ODI XI of India and Australia. He has scored 86 runs in 5 matches with an average of 17.20 and a strike rate of 111.69 and he also claimed four dismissals as a wicket-keeper in the series.</p>

<p>By scoring his maiden ODI ton against India in 5<sup>th</sup> ODI at Sydney, he has certainly showed his potential on which Australian selectors have showed their faith and most importantly by not considering experienced veteran Shane Watson and he has certainly shut the door of for Watson as far as in the Australian ODI side and that’s why he picked up as an all-rounder in this team.
