Australia players to forfeit the South Africa tour if MoU remains unsigned by the end of this week
The Australia A side captain Usman Khawaja made some statements this morning.
Cricket Australia and the players have not been able to reach an agreement. This has left almost all the players unemployed. However, the players have taken it in a rather humorous way making jokes about the same and searching for a new job. This has now become a matter of concern for CA as they have to sort it out as soon as possible.
Negotiations to sign a new contract with the CA were delayed for months and the contracts of the players covering all the areas got expired last Friday leaving many of the players unemployed in a way. This unemployment is taken as a break by all the players and is rather enjoying their time away from the game.
The matter is now going out of hands as players have not really been affected by their so called unemployment and are rather enjoying the holiday. The Ashes also is not too far and this feud with the players is not a healthy sign. They have to come to an agreement before things go out of hands. However, there is a new twist to the tale as the Australia A side captain Usman Khawaja made some statements this morning.
Australia A to not tour South Africa
Usman Khawaja has put certain demands as the Australia A team might not tour South Africa. The squad that was to tour South Africa was recently announced and there are players like Glenn Maxwell alongside Ashton Agar and are led by Usman Khawaja.
The players met with ACA in Sydney and have decided that if the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is not agreed upon then the A team will not tour South Africa. However, the players have decided to start their preparations for the same from tomorrow in Brisbane but if the CA and the players do not come to an agreement until the weekend then the all the players will bail out of the tour.
The tour had a couple of four-day games against South Africa A and the limited overs tri-series against India A and South Africa A.
