The Karnataka-born batsman has been knocking on the selectors’ doors for quite a while now. The right-hander has racked up runs at will in India’s domestic cricket from the last season. He also played exceptionally, representing India ‘A’ in their tour of England. However, despite showing tremendous form over the last few months, he keeps on being overlooked, much to his disappointment.
The 27-year-old was rewarded as he was picked up for the two-match series against Windies. Unfortunately, he didn’t even find a place in the 12-man squads, which were announced one day prior to the games. To add to his agony, he was sidelined for the Australia series. But he may be drafted in, provided Shaw doesn’t get fit for the remaining three Tests in Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney.
