The Australian skipper was at it yet again and it was Rohit Sharma who was on strike this time. While talking to Aaron Finch who was fielding close-in, Paine said that he always had a confusion choosing one team between the Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals.
He then shifted the focus towards Rohit, the Mumbai Indians captain. The 34-year-old offered to support the Mumbai team if Rohit hits a six. Sharma, however, didn’t lose his focus and ignored Paine’s words.
This incident went further on when Rohit offered Tim Paine a spot in the MI squad if he hit a century. “If he (Paine) gets a hundred here, I will put in a word about him to my boss at Mumbai Indians and we’ll buy him. Looks like he’s a fan of Mumbai,” he said. Even though both these things didn’t materialise, it left enough for the fans to talk about.
