Indian cricketers always remain at the focal point of attention no matter what the results on the grounds are. On Monday, captain Virat Kohli and spinner Kuldeep Yadav were seen sharing autographs and selfies outside the Adelaide Oval where the crucial second of the three ODIs will be played on January 15 but the fans could not get MS Dhoni amongst them to fulfil their wishes.
India are trailing the three-match series 0-1 after losing the first match in Sydney by 34 runs. Chasing a challenging target of 289, the visitors had a disastrous start to their batting, losing three wickets for four runs before opener Rohit Sharma slammed a scintillating 133 off 129 deliveries. He brought his team back on track with a 137-run partnership with Dhoni who hit a half-century after more than a year.
However, the wicketkeeper-batsman took 96 balls for his 51 before getting out to a controversial decision and his slow scoring was criticised by many. While Kohli and Kuldeep patiently gave autographs and clicked pictures with the fans ahead of the practice session, Dhoni did not stop by even though he had promised to interact with them once the practice session got over.
Dhoni was seen obliging the fans ahead of the first game in Sydney after he hit the nets soon after landing in Australia for the ODI series. It is after almost three months that the veteran donned the Indian jersey as he was dropped for two consecutive T20I series against the Windies and Australia.
Dhoni was seen practising in nets along with Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami, Dinesh Karthik in pictures shared by the BCCI on social media. Head coach Ravi Shastri was also seen present there.

India are on the last leg of their preparation for the ICC World Cup due in England and Wales in another few months and it is being speculated that Dhoni, who led India to win the trophy in 2011, will bow out of international cricket after the mega tournament. However, the man has been struggling with the bat for some time now and with youngster Rishabh Pant playing at top gear, many have expressed unhappiness over the choice of the national wicketkeeper.
