India and Australia are up against each other in the Day-Night Test at Adelaide. The visitors won the toss and decided to show up with the bat first. While Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal were sent back by the bowlers early, Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli decided to shoulder some responsibilities for the team. Pujara got 43 runs in his bag before he left the crease.

Virat Kohli was in the companionship of Ajinkya Rahane, and it was going well for India before some utter confusion came up on the field, and the skipper had to lose his wicket. During 77th over, Rahane called Kohli for a run and signalled him to move back while Kohli was midway. He found it impossible to touch the crease and got ran out in an unfortunate turn of events. Though Rahane apologized for his action, the damage was already done to the Indian squad.

Kohli left the field in utter disappointment while amassing 74 runs in his account. The Indian fans were waiting for a century from Kohli’s end, and he was playing in a determined way to touch that height. However, a poor call was taken by Rahane in between, and it came as a big blow for visitors. Cricket and Kohli fans couldn’t keep calm after seeing Rahane’s action and are slamming him over the same.

Virat Kohli’s wicket was too crucial for India

It is a clear fact that Kohli would leave the Australian soil after the 1st Test match owing to his paternity leave. India’s Test deputy Ajinkya Rahane would be donning the skipper’s hat in Kohli’s absence. However, his recent action that cost Kohli’s wicket will go well with him in times to come. It was expected that Rahane would carry India’s responsibility after Kohli went back, but even he left in quite some time, scoring 42 runs.

India hasn’t got the required amount of runs in their account so far, and it will be a thing to see as to how they maintain their rhythm in the next four days.
