Australia and Sri Lanka are all set to battle it out in the third T20 international at the Manuka Oval in Canberra with the series on-line for the visitors. The home side has dominated the proceeding so far as expected but Sri Lanka almost pulled off a memorable win in the last game until Hazlewood spoiled their party in the super over. The visitors are desperate for a win against the World T20 champions to gain some confidence.

Pathum Nissanka has been a revelation at the top for the Sri Lanka side and he is going to be crucial for success in the third T20I while the other batters have been dismissed very cheaply. Australia’s top order has been scoring the bulk of the runs and they will need the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith to step up for the side.

Pitch Report:

The pitch in Canberra hasn’t been the best to bat on and putting a score on board will always help with the big boundaries and the pressures of chasing down scores. Australia has defended really well in the last two games and they will look to continue the good run of form after a crucial win in the last game. The skipper winning the toss will have no doubts on batting first in the wicket.

Probable top performers

Probable best batter of the match: Pathum Nissanka

Pathum Nissanka has been one of the upcoming sensations from the Sri Lankan side and he has shown a lot of promise so far in the two T20I games he has played. He showed glimpses of his potential in the T20 World Cup and has now come with good performances so far in the first two games. He might still want to improve on his strike rate but has definitely looked the best batter from the Island nation on display. He single-handedly almost took his side to victory with a 53 ball 73 but was unfortunate to lose out in the super over.

Probable best bowler of the match: Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood is proving to be a great T20 bowler in recent times and has already taken seven wickets in the first two games against Sri Lanka. The tall seamer hits the right lengths with the new ball and hardly goes for runs which makes him one of the top contenders for the best bowler. He bowled a brilliant super over in the last game to stage a victory for his side and is likely to continue his good run with the ball.
