Australia vs Zimbabwe ODIs: Where to Watch, Schedule, Squads, and All you need to know
Zimbabwe last visited Australia in the 2003-04 season.
After a disappointing outing against the Indians, Zimbabwe will now travel to Australia for a three-match ODI series. It is for the first time these two sides face each other in an ODI series in eight long years. On top of that, the Zimbabwean team last visited Australia in the 2003-04 season. Thus, the series has a lot of historical value, especially with the ODI Super League in mind.
The host nation recently lost an ODI series against Sri Lanka and thus will be coming with their full strength to gain momentum in the Super League table. They currently are 8th in the table with seven wins from 12 games. They desperately need to win all three games and, thus, named a full-strength squad for the series.
Coming to Zimbabwe, Blessing Muzarabani will be making his return to the squad against Australia. The 25-year-old was out of the Bangladesh and India series following a thigh injury. Even though he is making his return, regular captain Craig Ervine is still recovering from a hamstring injury. Several other players couldn’t travel with the squad either.
In this dire situation, Sikandar Raza will be their key batter. Zimbabwean International scored three centuries in his last six matches, and the team will expect something similar from him against the Kangaroos. Along with him, Innocent Kaia will be another player to watch out for.
For Australia, Pat Cummins will miss the series. Leg-spinner Adam Zampa will be making his return to the squad. The focus for the Australians will be on their middle order, which at times crumbled under pressure in recent times.
