Australia Women’s Tri-Nation T20I Series, 2020: Match 4, England Women vs India Women – England's chasing streak over India, Taniya’s dismissals streak, Sciver's T20I record at No.4 and more stats

England Women registered their second straight win in the Tri-Nation T20I series as they defeated India Women by four wickets on Friday. India made a decent start as Smriti Mandhana scored a 40-ball 45 with eight boundaries. However, no player provided acceleration in the middle overs as India had to settle down with 123/6. England lost wickets at regular intervals but Natalie Sciver’s 38-ball 50 made the chase look easy for her team. They completed the chase with seven balls for moving on to the top of the points table.

England’s chasing streak against India:

9 – England Women were victorious in their last nine T20I chases against India Women. This is the joint-longest winning run for any team while chasing against an opponent in the history of T20I cricket. England Women also won all the nine T20Is while chasing against New Zealand Women since the start of 2011.

India continues to struggle against Brunt:

19 – Number of wickets Katherine Brunt has picked in the T20I format against India Women; the joint-most wickets by a player against Indian Women in this format. Ellyse Perry also picked up 19 T20I wickets against the Indian Women’s team till date. Brunt picked up 19 wickets across 14 T20I at an average of 14.26.

End of Bhatia’s streak:

12 – Taniya Bhatia couldn’t affect a dismissal in this game bringing an end to her 12 consecutive innings with at least one keeping dismissal. This is the longest streak for any wicketkeeper with at least one dismissal in T20I cricket across both Men’s and Women’s cricket.

MS Dhoni held the record before Taniya with at least one dismissal in 10 consecutive innings between 2012 and 2014. Alyssa Healy’s 9 consecutive innings with at least one keeping dismissal in 2018 was the previous best streak in Women’s T20Is.

Sciver’s heroics at 4:

5 – Natalie Sciver now has five fifties in the T20I format; all while batting at No.4 position. These are the most fifty-plus scores for any player in Women’s T20Is at No.4 position surpassing Harmanpreet Kaur’s four fifties.

Brunt gets a promotion in the batting:

2 – Only the 2nd time Katherine Brunt batted as high as No.3 in her International career. She scored 8runs off 8 balls before getting run out in the follow-through. The other such instance was during the 2010 Mumbai T20I also against India where she was stumped for 4 runs (4 balls) at No.3 position when England were chasing 126 to win.
