An Australian fan Alex James from Brisbane was fined 3,000 rupees and sentenced to a week in prison after he did a nude run at the Pallekele Stadium after the last session of day one of the 1st Test between Sri Lanka and Australia was washed out by rain.

It is learned that Alex did it just for the sake of his own entertainment. Since the entire ground was covered to prevent the rain from dampening the outfield he streaked inside the park after jumping a couple of fences in between the hill where he was seated and the playing area.

There was no security personnel there to intervene his act as he had enough time to slide around on the covers, get back his shorts, and jog back to the boundary, jump his way back over the fences and make his way to the hill.

But his actions led him to his arrest from the venue on Tuesday evening. James was later released on bail though he had to spend the night in the lock up. Following the incident, the security around the playing area has been beefed up.

The day two of the first Test once again belonged to the tourists as the Australian batters managed to take a lead of 86 runs. Australia ended their innings on 203 and were able to find early success in the Sri Lanka’s second inning. The day ended with the home team on – 6/1 in 2.2; the heavens poured down at the same moment when the Lankans lost the first wicket and there was no further action possible in the last session of the day.

Two sessions in the first two days have been completely washed off but with the ball doing a lot it looks a certainty that the game will yield a result. The home team will have to bat and bowl really well in the second inning to pull back the advantage from the Aussies otherwise, they definitely are running away with the game.
