Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa irked with lack of sportsmanship
Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa seems to have some issues with cricketers celebrating after taking wickets. Zampa, who is a part of Guyana Amazon Warriors in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016, looked unhappy after his team’s playoff against Jamaica Tallawahs.
Zampa took to his Twitter handle where he expressed his annoyance about the celebrations of wickets and players refusing to shake hands with him after the recent encounter. There no video of the incidence but Zampa clearly has some discomfort in the last game.
Earlier, Zampa had a similar altercation on Twitter with Tabraiz Shamsi in the recently ended Indian Premier League. Zampa played for Rising Pune Supergiants and tweeted about Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Shamsi’s ‘Bus-Driver’ celebration to which the latter gave a befitting reply.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors advanced to the finals of the CPL 2016 after beating Jamaica Tallawahs a couple of days back. After being set a target of 147 runs to chase, the Warriors with the help of Chris Lynn’s 49 and Sohail Tanvir’s valuable 21 runs knock chased the target with 2 balls to spare.
Adam Zampa also had a satisfying outing ending with figures of 1/20 in his three-over spell. The emerging Australian leg-spinner has been proving I this T20 format. After impressing everyone with the limited amount of opportunities he got in the IPL, Zampa is now sitting third in the wicket takers list of the ongoing tournament. He has so far taken 15 wickets in the 11 matches at an average of 17.26 with best bowling figures of 3/18 while maintaining an economy rate of 6.78.
