Ellyse Perry, in her country Australia, she is a famous sportswoman. She made her debut for both the Australian cricket and the Australian women’s national soccer team at the age of 16 and has been playing for both since. Over the past 10 years, she has emerged as a match-winner for the Australian Cricket Team.

Although she started her career as a bowler, she now excels as a batswoman too, which was proved in the ICC Women’s World Cup match against New Zealand in which she scored a 71 off 90 balls batting at No. 4 where Australia won the match by 5 wickets.

The team composition lacked a batter too which is why she was forced to focus on batting as well. And for the Pakistan team which is yet to open their account in the tournament, after losing all their three games thus far, their next opponents are the mighty Australians, and Perry can pose quite a threat to them.

The 26-year-old has issued a warning to her World Cup rivals Pakistan ahead of Wednesday’s clash –  she says that she has a short ball and she will use it. On Sunday when Australia played New Zealand, the quick unleashed quite a few bouncers and admitted after the match that she deliberately used the short ball as a tactic.

The all-rounder who bowls lethal bouncers

The bouncers started looking dangerous at one point, and Erin Bermingham and Amy Satterthwaite were both the targets of her bouncers. Bermingham was in fact struck on the wrists painfully on one of the occasions during her innings for the Kiwis. But things soon cooled down.

For the Pakistani batters who have already been struggling to get going in the tournament, Perry’s all-round performance can be a big threat. They lost to all time arch-rivals India on Sunday by 95 runs at Derby, thereby registering their third consecutive loss.
