The former and current cricketers are following a trend of giving out their best preferred XIs across all the formats. Recently, Shane Warne and Aakash Chopra gave their teams in respective formats. Now, Azhar Ali, the current Test skipper of Pakistan has given his all-time Pakistan favourite XI in the longer format his latest interaction on social media.
Coronavirus outbreak has brought everyone’s life to a standstill. Things have gone from bad to worse due to which the governments of major countries had to enforce lockdown in their nations. In the meantime, the sporting industry suffered a major blow and all the sporting activities came down to a halt after the lockdown. On the other hand, the players are finding it hard to pass their time away from the game.
Azhar Ali gives his all-time Test XI
So, the majority of the international cricketers are making the best use of their free time by doing exercises in their own backyard, interacting with the fans and social media houses. Recently, Azhar Ali was also involved in a live interaction with a portal in which he was questioned to pick his all time-Pakistan Test XI.
He clarified over the same and said that it is quite difficult to pick all-time favourite Test XI from Pakistan but he has tried his best to give the best possible team. Firstly, he picked former legendary openers Hanif Mohammad and Saeed Anwar as the set of openers in his side.
Earlier, Shane Warne had also heaped praise for Saeed Anwar and had said that he might look to pick him in his all-time Test XI if he comes out with one in the future. He included Younis Khan, who is the highest run-getter for Pakistan in Tests followed by Javed Miandad, Inzamam-ul-Haq as his preferred batsmen in his Test team.
In all-rounder’s category, he picked Imran Khan, who can contribute with the ball and bat. He also appointed the former World Cup-winning captain as the skipper of his Test side as well. Sarfaraz Ahmed was his preferred player in the slot of wicketkeeper-batsman.
Azhar Ali included a strong bowling trio that consisted of Azahar Mahmood, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. Meanwhile, Abdul Qadir was given the responsibility to lead the spin bowling attack. And, Saqlain Mushtaq was picked as the 12th man in the team.
