Babar is currently the ICC’s number-one T20I batsman and that showed in the Kings’ opening match against last year’s finalists Peshawar Zalmi. At the National Stadium in Karachi, the youngster turned out to be the Player of the Match. He scored 78 runs off 56 balls with seven fours and two sixes.

Babar’s efforts didn’t go in vain as the Kings emerged victorious by 10 runs to register first points in the tournament. Karachi are next scheduled to lock horns with defending champions, Quetta Gladiators, led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, in the first of Sunday’s doubleheader in the PSL.
