Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan came up with a jaw-dropping introduction of his skipper Babar Azam while visiting the Ajax Football Club in the Netherlands. Referring to footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Shadab mentioned that Babar is similar to the duo in the game of cricket. It has to be noted that Ronaldo and Messi are two of the biggest names in football, and they are quite popular around the world.
Babar and his teammates visited the Netherlands’ top-tier football club, Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax or AFC Ajax, and they managed to meet some of the high famed footballers. In the video, Shadab answered a query by former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar by pointing at Babar and stating ‘he’s Cristianal Messi of Cricket’.
Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Imam-ul-Haq, Haris Rauf, and Abdullah Shafique, along with team manager Mansoor Rana were all spotted in the video, and they ended the meeting with a photograph. Another notable incident that took place was Babar and Dusan Tadic, a popular Ajax player, exchanging signed t-shirts on the back of them.

Pakistan, who came in for a three-match ODI series against the Netherlands, have already secured the series 2-0 on the back of two good performances. The first ODI did show some hiccups, with the Netherlands almost chasing down the total posted by Pakistan in the first innings. In the second ODI, the Netherlands were bundled up for 186 in the 45th over, and Pakistan chased down the total in the 34th over.
Babar Azam has scored two half-centuries in the first two ODIs, and he’s certainly making a big statement with his consistency levels. The 27-year-old averages almost 60 in the ODI format and is often rated among the best modern-day batters alongside Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root. Pakistan have a big assignment coming up with the Asia Cup 2022 set to get underway on August 27th in UAE.
