The moment Babar Azam reached 48 during the third T20I against New Zealand, he went past Virat Kohli to become the fastest to score 1000 runs in the format. He achieved the milestone in his 26th innings for Pakistan while the Indian captain had taken one innings more to cross the four-figure mark. Meanwhile, Babar has expressed his elation over the same and has dedicated his 1000 T20I runs to differently abled people in Pakistan.

The 24-year-old is known for amazing consistency. Opening the innings, more often not, he has managed to set a perfect platform for the batsmen to come. Babar did the same in the Australia series and was awarded the Player of the Series. However, the batsman took the onus on himself to score quick runs in the final game against the Kiwis.

He went on to score 79 runs off just 58 deliveries and smashed seven fours to go with a couple of massive sixes during his stay in the middle. Mohammad Hafeez assisted him with a brilliant half-century as Pakistan posted ther highest score of the last six matches. It goes without saying that they managed to win the match and inflicted yet another whitewash at home.

Babar’s kind gesture

Babar Azam was delighted to bring laurels to Pakistan and was happier that his team won yet another T20I series. He also dedicated his significant milestone with the bat to the differently abled people back home in Pakistan and across the world and called them the real heroes.

“Another milestone achieved, another historic whitewash series win against a top-class side. Alhumdulillah, we’re a force to reckon with. This fastest to 1000 T20 runs is dedicated to all “differently able” people in Pakistan and across the world. #TheRealHeroes #PakistanZindabad,” he wrote in a tweet.

The cricketer will aim to convert the similar kind of form in the ODI format as the Men in Green will lock horns against New Zealand in the three-match ODI series from November 7.
