And, Imran Khan, the Pakistan Prime Minister has sent a special message for the young player.
After facing a T20I series defeat, Pakistan was expected to come up with some brilliant performance in the longer format but that was not the case. The Men in Green are facing criticism for their poor performance but Babar and Mohammad Rizwan are getting praised for their brilliant batting display during the 1st Test.
Babar Azam gets praises for scoring a ton against Australia
Babar didn’t get off to a great start to his game and was dismissed after scoring just one run in the first innings. But, in the second innings, he played a determined knock and also remained successful in registering his 2nd Test ton. He firmly held one end while batting but didn’t get any strong support from any other batsman in the team. He tried his level best to avoid his side from facing a defeat by an innings but his effort went into vain.
Now the former legendary pacer Wasim Akram said that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is highly impressed with the performance of Babar Azam. The 53-year-old also added that the PM had texted him to congratulate the young batsman for his brilliant batting. He also wants the right-handed batter, who is very technically sound, should play at number four position.
“Wasim Akram “PM Imran Khan messaged me to wish all the best to Babar Azam for the way he batted. He also mentioned that in his cricketing opinion Babar is such a good batsman and has a great technique that he should bat at number four eventually” Wasim Akram said as quoted by Pak Passion.
The 2nd Test is scheduled to be played at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide that will begin on November 29.
