The controversy involving the Indian cricket players Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul may have far-reaching consequences. From politicians to the former cricketers’ everyone has shared an opinion and the duo was soon taken down mercilessly for their misogynistic comments. Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party’s MP Babul Supriyo was unhappy and voiced his concerns on how recklessly the matter was dealt with by the BCCI.
The two relatively experienced youngsters made their appearance in the renowned television talk show Koffee with Karan, hosted by Bollywood director Karan Johar. Since it is a seemingly casual show, the pair even stated that teammates helped them with access to their hotel rooms when they brought company with them.
The BCCI’s Committee of Administrator (CoA) member Diana Edulji, recommending to take stern action against them and eventually they were suspended pending an inquiry. Supriyo, a former playback singer criticized Diana Edulji saying that what Hardik and Rahul did was disgraceful but the measures taken to punish them are over the line as well.
“With due & utter respect to Diana Edulji & her contribution to Indian cricket, May I say that her thinking has got ‘fossil’ to contemplate such extreme steps. What Hardik said is deplorable but their has to be some prudence in the way such senior minds handle the young ones.” he wrote on Twitter.

There’s a thick line between reprimanding and destroying them
The singer turned politician also said that there is a thick line between punishing someone as a corrective measure and destroying them. He understands that the duo is young and imposing such a harsh sanction isn’t the right way of dealing with it.
“There is ‘Thick’ line between reprimanding someone and destroying them !! My plea to these seniors : please behave your ages gentleman & ladies…Rest my case,” he further wrote.
