'Bach gaye' - Virat Kohli's priceless reaction after Ravindra Jadeja survives LBW call via DRS
Jadeja scored 35 runs in the match but could not stay till the end to finish the game for his side.
Team India had a perfect start to their 2022 T20 Asia Cup after they defeated Pakistan in their opening encounter of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup on August 28 (Sunday). The Men in Blue had several match-heroes including Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja as they all contributed to their team’s winning effort.
Chasing 148 to win, at one stage, team India was in some sort of trouble as one of their premier all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja was given out LBW on the bowling of Naseem Shah who came to bowl the third last over of the match. Naseem’s fourth delivery hit Jadeja on the pads as the umpire gave the decision in the bowling team’s favour.
After being given out, Jadeja reviewed the decision straightaway
As soon as Jadeja was given out, the left-handed batter was quick to review the decision, and as it turned out the ball had pitched just outside the leg-stump. Hence, it forced the umpire to change his decision and brought a huge sigh of relief for the Indian camp and its fans. However, Kohli’s reaction to the incident was priceless as the right-handed batter put both hands on his head and shouted ‘Bach Gaye’ before looking up towards the sky with a praying gesture.
Both Jadeja and Hardik took the game till the last over where the latter finished off the match after smashing Mohammad Nawaz for a maximum over long-on and sealing the game for his team by five wickets. Pandya was adjudged player of the match for his crucial role with both bat and the ball.
Meanwhile, Jadeja also expressed his happiness during the post-match presentation and said that he wanted to finish the game for his side. “We wanted to play till the end, they have a very good bowling attack, their fast bowlers don’t give anything away,” Jadeja said during the post-match interview with Sanjay Manjrekar. “I could have finished the game – left-arm spinner against a left-hander, but Hardik played superbly. He came out and said he was going to play his shots, and happy that he stayed till the end,” the all-rounder added.
