Bahrain Cricket Festival to feature the likes of Afridi and Misbah

The Bahrain Cricket Festival is one of a kind of cricketing festival. This event has been organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in collaboration with the Bahrain Cricket Academy. It has been organised and done by the event organiser Fahad Sadeq and will be played on the 19th of May, this year.

The line-up for the festival consists of many a Pakistani cricketer, who all are now retired from International cricket. It will for the first time feature the retiring Pakistani Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq after he completes his assignment with the national team in the series against the West Indies.

The Pakistani side led by Misbah-ul-Haq have been pegged back after the historic win by West Indies the other day to a 1-1 going into the decider. It will also feature one of Pakistan’s most decorated all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who now serves as the Global Ambassador for the ICC Champions Trophy.

Alongside Afridi and Misbah-ul-Haq, the event will also feature the famous Pakistani left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir, all-rounder Abdul Razzaq and former opening batsman Imran Nazir. The list extends to the former Sri Lankan all-rounder and a cricketing icon Tillakaratne Dilshan. Dilshan will be hopeful of pulling off much more Dilscoops while playing in the festival to get the crowd on their feet. Alongside Dilshan, West Indies all-rounder Marlon Samuels will also feature in the festival.

The West Indian is currently the part of the Indian Premier League side Delhi Daredevils where is he playing at No.4. The viewers will have wait to see if Samuels takes part in the event due to his involvement in the IPL. If Daredevils qualify for the playoffs in the IPL, it would be tough to see the West Indian feature in the festival. The Festival surely would garner the interest of the crowd and would propel the momentum of cricket into the middle east.
