Bangladesh continued their dominance over New Zealand in the fourth T20I of the five-match series. Having elected to bat first in the do-or-die game, the Kiwis suffered yet another batting collapse and lost wickets at regular intervals. As a result, they got bundled out for 93 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. While left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed inflicted the damage in the initial overs, Mustafizur Rahman wreaked havoc in the death overs.
The left-arm paced bowled a splendid spell and took as many as four wickets. Besides putting a bowling exhibition, Mustafizur also showcased his fielding skills during his spell. The fast bowler dismissed all-rounder Cole McConchie via caught and bowled and left fans and experts in awe. The incident took place in the last ball of the 16th over.
Mustafizur Rahman showcases amazing reflexes
With the track being slow and dry, the ‘Fizz’ unleashed one of the lethal weapons in his armoury – the slower delivery. Cole McConchie tried to drive the full-length delivery straight down the ground. However, the talismanic bowler showcased his quick reflexes and took a brilliant one-handed catch. Subsequently, McConchie walked back for a three-ball duck.

Mustafizur was also delighted with his effort and the same was evident in his celebration. This wicket dented New Zealand further as they got reduced to 74/7. Although Will Young played some impressive shots in the end overs, he couldn’t take the Kiwis to the three-figure mark. It was Mustafizur who shone in the death overs as three of the last four wickets went in his kitty.
Apart from the 26-year-old quick, Nasum Ahmed also did some talking with the ball. The left-arm spinner took four wickets upfront as the visitors never looked in the hunt. Young was New Zealand’s highest run-scorer, having slammed a 48-ball 46. Finn Allen (12) and skipper Tom Latham (21) were the only other batters to reach double figures.
Meanwhile, stakes are incredibly high in the fourth T20I. With the Bangla Tigers having a 2-1 lead in the series, a win in this contest would seal the deal for them. Hence, the Kiwis need to cross the line to stay alive in the series. However, defending 93 would be a hefty task even though the track is favouring spinners.
