Bangladesh completed a 3-0 series win in the ODI series against West Indies following a 120-run win in the Chattogram ODI. After the loss of a couple of early wickets, it was the pair of Tamim Iqbal (64) and Shakib Al Hasan (51) which built the innings with a 93-run stand. Later, Mushfiqur Rahim (64) and Mahmudullah (64*) took the innings forward and helped Bangladesh finish with 297/6. The run-chase of West Indies never got going as they collapsed to 177 against a collective bowling effort from the home team.

Here are all the statistical highlights from Bangladesh’s ODI series whitewash against West Indies:

A big winning spree of Bangladesh:

9 – Bangladesh now has won each of their last nine matches in International cricket; their joint 2nd longest winning streak across all three formats. Bangladesh won 10 in a row in the last quarter of 2006 and nine in succession during the 2014-15 season.

Bangladesh, in fact, won each of their last 11 international matches at home; their 2nd longest winning streak at home in International cricket behind 12 successive wins between 2014 and 2015.

Bangladesh’s record-breaking quartet:

2 – Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad scored fifties in the same ODI innings for the second time. They had recorded such instance during the 2015 World Cup game against Scotland. This quartet from Bangladesh is now the first in ODI history to register fifties in the same ODI innings on two different occasions.

64 – The trio of Tamim (64), Mushfiqur (64) and Mahmudullah (64*) scored exactly 64 runs each during the 3rd ODI. This is the first time in ODI history where three players scored 50+ runs and ended with an identical score in an innings.

The previous highest individual to be achieved three times in an ODI innings was 36 – By India vs New Zealand in 1990 Wellington ODI and by Australia vs Zimbabwe in 2001 Sydney ODI.

Shakib @ 6000 runs at home:

6045 – Shakib Al Hasan completed 6000 runs in International cricket in Bangladesh; the 3rd player to achieve this feat after Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim.

Shakib has also picked up 336 wickets alongside the 6045 runs with the bat in international cricket on Bangladesh soil. No player other than Shakib has 6000+ runs and 300+ wickets in a country in international cricket.

A fifty less series for West Indies:

2004 – West Indies ended the series without an individual fifty across the three matches. The last instance of a team going through an ODI series/tournament without an individual fifty was Bangladesh in the 3-match home series against New Zealand in 2004. (Min: 3 team innings)

West Indies had the highest individual score of 48* in the 3-match ODI series at home against Afghanistan in 2017 but the last match of the series got washed out before a ball was bowled.

Shakib makes an impactful comeback:

7 – The BAN vs WI ODI series was the 7th ODI series/tournament where Shakib Al Hasan scored a fifty and also took a 4-wicket haul. These are the most such ODI series/tournaments for any player surpassing Sanath Jayasuriya (6).

14 – Shakib Al Hasan now has won a player of the series award on 14 occasions in International cricket. Only Sachin Tendulkar (20), Virat Kohli (18) and Jacques Kallis (15) have more such awards than Shakib.

16 – Shakib now has scored 100+ runs and also took 5+ wicket in as many as 16 different ODI series/tournaments. Only Jacques Kallis (21) and Sanath Jayasuriya (17) have more such ODI series/tournaments than Shakib.

A tough debut for Harding:

88 – Runs conceded by Keon Harding in the 3rd ODI which marked to be his ODI debut. These are the most number of runs conceded by a West Indies player on ODI debut surpassing the 83 runs by Oshane Thomas in the 2018 Guwahati ODI against India.

Harding’s 88 runs are the 3rd most conceded by any player on Men’s ODI debut behind 95 runs by Ireland’s Peter Connell against New Zealand in the 2008 Aberdeen ODI and 94 runs by Netherlands’ Peter Borren during the 2006 Amstelveen ODI against Sri Lanka.
