Bangabandhu T20 Cup: Mushfiqur Rahim had gestured to hit Nasum Ahmed twice in the same match
Rahim did it, not once but twice.
The eliminator game between Beximco Dhaka and Fortune Barishal was in the news a couple of days ago due to Mushfiqur Rahim’s angry gesture towards his teammate. The senior cricketer was criticised for his reaction towards a newbie and faced a lot of flak on social media. Rahim was livid on Nasum Ahmed for interfering while taking a catch despite but his reaction didn’t go down well with many.
Rather following the criticism, the wicketkeeper-batsman had to come out and apologise to the fans and Nasum Ahmed as well. Even the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) fined the veteran cricketer for his misconduct. Interestingly, it wasn’t the only time, Mushfiqur Rahim gestured hitting at Nasum. Even earlier in the innings, he had done the same thing to the left-arm spinner and the video of the same has now surfaced on social media.
The incident took place in the 13th over of the innings when Nasum Ahmed was in the middle of the second over of his spell. Afif Hossain came down the track to play the ball towards the vacant mid-wicket region and aimed for a couple. To stop the opposition batsmen from running two, both Mushfiqur Rahim and Nasum ran towards the ball and the former was successful in keeping them down to single.

Weird reaction from Mushfiqur Rahim
The Dhaka skipper then gestured to the batsmen as if he is throwing the ball and for some reason, turned to the bowler Nasum and repeated the action as if he was going to hit him. The actions were similar to what transpired later in the 17th over and it seemed as if he was not happy with the bowler itself.

Meanwhile, Beximco Dhaka have been knocked out of the tournament as they lost to Gazi Group Chattogram in the second qualifier. Their batting capitulated in the crucial match scoring only 116 runs in their 20 overs. In response, the Chattogram took 19.3 overs to get to the target, but they were always in control of the chase. The final of the Bangabandhu Cup is set to be played on December 18.
