Bangladesh Cricket Board positive about Australia tour, despite payment disputes
Chowdhury hopeful about the tour
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), despite the longstanding payment disputes plaguing Cricket in Australia, remain positive about the upcoming series against Australia, hoping things would materialise in future. All Australian series have come under serious jeopardy including Australia’s tour to Bangladesh. There are still question marks regarding the possibility of India series scheduled on October and Ashes later this year.
The Cheif Executive Officer of BCB, Nizamuddin Chowdhury, however, confirmed that the Australian board will send a team to evaluate the security measures taken by the BCB on July 25. A team of five officials is scheduled to visit for inspection and arrangements made by the Board.
“We had communication [with CA] even this morning. A delegate team of four to five members will come to see all the arrangements including security issues on July 25. We’re hopeful that the visit will go ahead as per as schedule. We are not still informed about the possibility of the cancellation of the tour.” commented the CEO of Bangladesh Cricket Board according to BDcrictime.com.

On being asked whether the Board has alternate arrangement if Australia pulls out of the tournament, Nizamuddin discarded the notion by claiming no other team would be available, citing busy schedule in the FTP. “You must understand that we just cannot get an alternative considering the commitments of the international teams.Everyone is busy with their own schedule” replied Chowdhury.
The conditions in Australia still haven’t improved as Cricket Australia and Australian Cricket Association have been failing to acquire common grounds despite the marathon meetings lately. The Players Association have been adamant about Revenue Sharing Model while Cricket Australia have stuck to their principle of Fixed Revenue Model. As many as 230 cricketers have been rendered unemployed due to the bitter face off between the two parties. Top players such as Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc have been endorsing rival sponsors to the protected ones from the Board.
