Bangladesh set to participate in the Hong Kong Sixes 2017
The second day of the tournament will stage the final phase of the games.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced their squad for the Hong Kong Sixes 2017, which is set to kickstart on 28 October at Kowloon Cricket Club in Hong Kong. Eight teams along with hosts Hong Kong will take part in the 2-day event. It is one of the most anticipated contests in the cricket calendar, as spectators and viewers get to see massive sixes and bagful of wickets.
Many of the big names have featured in the tournament so far. Unfortunately, India won’t be participating in the mega event. In this particular format, extras such as wides and no-balls are counted as two runs. Batsman will have to retire after scoring 31 runs, but he can come back to face more balls if his side loses the remaining wickets. If a side loses five wickets before the completion of 5 overs, then the remaining batsman can bat alone with the fifth batsman acting as a runner. The eight teams will go under two pools of four on each sides.
“We are excited to welcome both test nations and our first ever club side to take part in the Sixes, particularly an iconic club like MCC, with its prestigious cricket history,” said Jonathan Cummings, Cricket Hing Kong director.
