Bangladesh Squad Ratings- The player performance analysis of the victorious team: Bangladesh scripted a historic series win against India, prevailing over them 2-1 in what was one of the most famous wins for the team. Not many expected the young Bangladeshi side to rock a full fledged Indian team, but the tigers did it, proving that they aren’t whipper snappers, but capable of competing with the best. Bangladesh as a team performed exceedingly well with the batters putting in some good performances, their bowlers chipping in with wickets at regular intervals and also some quality fielding. Appreciation poured in from all corners of the cricketing world with former players like Geoffrey Boycott saying that Bangladesh aren’t minnows anymore. They’ve proved their mettle outclassing Pakistan 3-0 in the previous series and now have thumped the Indians as well. These victories are sure to get ingrained in the hearts of fervent Bangladeshi fans for some time to come. Let’s take a look at the Bangladesh Squad Ratings: Tamim Iqbal- 5/10: Tamim Iqbal. However he was unimpressive in the next two games faltering for single digit scores. Overall he scored 70 runs in the 3-match series, an unimpressive stat for a first rate player like him. Soumya Sarkar -8/10: Soumya Sarkar. (Photo Source: AFP) Rated highly by legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Soumya Sarkar plundered 128 runs in the three match series at an average of over 40. He has been the mainstay for the Bangladeshi side for the past few months and has been consistently justifying his reputation with the bat. He was instrumental in Bangladesh posting a winning total in the first game as he registered a mind boggling strike of 135. In the remaining two games, he got starts, but couldn’t convert them into something big. Litton Das -6/10: Litton Das. (Photo Source: ICC) Averaging 26 and registering a modest strike rate of 75, Litton Das did a decent job with the bat showing glimpses of his intrinsic talent, but faltering at crucial occasions. He donned the role of a wicket keeper and put in a sizable contribution with 6 catches against his name. Mushfiqur Rahim -4.5/10: Mushfiqur Rahim. Lot was expected of him this series but he couldn’t live upto the expectations weighed on him and wilted under pressure apparently at crucial situations. He has scored just over 70 runs in the series and was a disappointment. Shakib Al Hasan -7.5/10: Shakib Al Hasan. (Photo Source: AFP) Shakib Al Hasan reached the pinnacle of success last year when he became the world’s top all rounder in all three formats. He scored 121 runs, picked up 3 wickets and did a good show both with the bat and ball. In the 2nd ODI, chasing 200, Bangladesh kept losing wickets but Shakib came in, steadied the wobbling boat and won the game for his side. Sabbir Rahman -7/10: Sabbir Rahman. He justified his reputation in this series with his matured batting display and scored 106 runs in the 3 matches. It is to be noted that he was not out in the 2nd game. He sure seems to be one for the future. Nasir Hossain -6.5/10: Nasir Hossain. (Photo Source: AFP) Nasir Hossain put in decent performances both with the bat and the ball. In the second match, he didn’t get the chance to bat, but in the other two matches, he struck two 30 plus scores. He has also picked up 2 wickets in the series. The two wickets in the second game proved vital to restrict India to 200. Mashrafe Mortaza: -6.5/10: Mashrafe Mortaza. (Photo Source: AFP) Mashrafe Mortaza did a fairly decent job with the ball picking up 7 wickets in the series. He also captained his side to the first ever series win against India. He was a bit expensive at times with the ball but his wicket taking ability indemnified for it. With victories like these, Mortaza is sure to continue as captain for a long time to come. Mustafizur Rahman -9.5/10: Mustafizur Rahman. (Photo Source: AFP) The lanky left arm medium pacer from Satkhira, Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman was the hero for Bangladesh in the first two games. He hardly put a foot wrong picking up consecutive fifers in consecutive matches. He dismissed the ever dangerous Rohit Sharma in all three occasions of the series. With 12 wickets in the series, he created a world record for most wickets in a 3 match series.With just 19 years of age, he is a real bright prospect for Bangladesh. A natural wicket taker, Rubel leaked far too many runs this series and picked up just 2 wickets. He did really well in the world cup as well as against Pakistan in the recently concluded bilateral series, but his sudden loss of form has come as a setback for the side. Fortunately his team performed well and that pretty took the attention away from his poor performance. He will be hoping to bounce back in the upcoming series. Taskin Ahmed -5/10: Taskin Ahmed. He picked up 2 wickets in the first match and rattled the Indian batsmen with his unerring line and length. Taskin has been in great form recently as he performed well in the world cup as well.
