Bangladesh team is not happy with Dublin facilities
The next match is the Bangladesh-New Zealand match on May 17.
The Bangladesh cricket team is currently in Ireland where they are playing a tri-series which also includes the hosts Ireland and visitors New Zealand. It was for this assignment that Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan returned home from the Indian Premier League midway.
It has come to be known that the team is not very happy with the facilities it got in Dublin. The team went to Balbriggan Cricket Club for their first practice session yesterday since the washed-out opener against Ireland which was played on Friday, but when they reached the ground, they saw that only the center wicket was available for practice and the club was deprived of net facilities.
Change in practice venue
Also, the wicket was not suited for batting since the ball kept low. Due to this, the team had to split and practice. Batsmen had to go elsewhere for their practice, to an indoor nets session. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) addressed the problem to the Ireland Cricket Board, and it has been known that the visitors will practice at the Malahide Cricket Club ground from now—which is the venue for the tri-series.
But the situations are not ideal. The purpose of the tri-series is a good practice platform for the teams as they go into the Champions Trophy next month. Batsmen practicing indoors and bowlers bowling on a low-bouncing wicket does not serve the practice purpose, they could have done the same in Bangladesh as well. The tri-series also is a great chance for Bangladesh to move up the ODI rankings and stand more chances to qualify for the 2019 World Cup.
The next match is the Bangladesh-New Zealand match on May 17. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the skipper of Bangladesh will be back for the game, after having missed the opener due to a one-match suspension picked up in Sri Lanka.
