Following the series against England, Bangladesh are all set to host Ireland in a multi-format series scheduled to kickstart on Saturday, March 18. The two sides will engage in a three-match ODI series followed by as many T20I matches which will conclude by Friday, March 31.
In addition to his, both teams will lock horns in a Test match for the first time which is scheduled to be played starting on Tuesday, April 4 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The Bangla Tigers have produced some decent performances against the Three Lions in the recently concluded series.
On the other hand, Ireland have had a topsy-turvy start to the year courtesy of their series against Zimbabwe in the T20Is and ODIs. The Irish side lost the T20I series 2-1 whereas the ODI series resulted in a 1-1 draw after the final game yielded no result.
However, since January 23 Ireland not played any series and will be gunning to give their best against the Bangla Tigers. Andrew Balbirnie will lead the Irish side across all the three formats. Prior to the ODI series, Ireland will play a warm-up fixture on March 15.
Speaking about their head-to-head records, the two have locked horns in 10 ODIs with Bangladesh having the massive upper lead with seven wins whereas Ireland have only won twice with one match yielding no result. In T20Is, a total of five matches have been played between the two sides and Ireland have only emerged victorious once whereas the Bangla Tigers have won thrice and one match concluding in no result.
