Preview
Bangladesh had double reasons to celebrate on Tuesday, May 25. After taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, Tamim Iqbal and Co moved to the top of the points table in the Super League with 50 points. The Tigers looked clinical and won their last game by 103 runs- DLS Method.
Mushfiqur Rahim led the charge with a ton after which the bowlers stepped up. After scoring 246, the Tigers’ bowlers didn’t allow the Lankan batters to get away. The visitors, on the other hand, have looked out of sorts as nothing seems to be going in their favour.
Though their bowlers have done reasonably, the batters have failed to put forth a decent show. In the third ODI on Friday, May 28, Lanka will be looking to salvage some pride and get 10 crucial points in the Super League.

The pitch in Mirpur has been a sporting one thus far. It has played a tad slowly, but run-scoring hasn’t been impossible as shown by the likes of Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah and Hasaranga.
After failing to chase down targets, Lanka won’t mind setting a target. There are chances of rain throughout the day and hence, rain interruptions could be there during the course of the game.

Probable best batsman of the match
Mushfiqur Rahim– Bangladesh
Mushfiqur Rahim is currently the leading run-scorer of the series with 209 runs under his belt at an average of 104.50. The 125 he got in the previous match on Tuesday must have given him loads of confidence.
The veteran has looked assured in the middle and bailed his team out of jail in both matches. If he gets his eyes in, the Lankans could be in for some more beating on Friday.
Probable best bowler of the match
Mehidy Hasan Miraz– Bangladesh
Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been the standout bowler in the series thus far. The off-spinner picked up four wickets in the first game and then backed the performance up with three wickets in the second.
He has bowled at a frugal economy rate of 2.90 and has been tough to get away even in the powerplay. He has also managed to go to second in the ICC rankings for bowlers.
Today’s match prediction: Bangladesh to win the match.
