Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2020: 3-match ODI series – Statistical Preview

After an innings victory in the one-off Test match, Bangladesh will now be hosting Zimbabwe in the 3-match ODI series starting on Sunday. Zimbabwe hasn’t tasted success against a major ODI team in nearly two years. Bangladesh, on the other hand, have been too good at home and in familiar conditions over the last 5-6 years in ODI format. They have registered series wins against the likes of Pakistan, India and South Africa during this period. This series against Zimbabwe will be Bangladesh’s first ODI series at home since the last year’s ODI CWC in England.

Bangladesh lost their last two matches of the 2019 CWC against India and Pakistan respectively and suffered a 0-3 series defeat in Sri Lanka last year. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, lost an ODI series against the Netherlands to 0-2 and against Ireland by 0-3 margin last year.

3994 – Mahmudullah aggregated 3994 runs in his ODI career thus far. He needs six more runs to become the 4th player from Bangladesh with 4000 ODI runs.
6892 – Tamim Iqbal needs 108 more runs to complete 7000 runs in the ODI format. He will be the first player from Bangladesh to reach 7000 ODI runs. Tamim is also 43 runs away from completing 13000 International runs for Bangladesh. Tamim has aggregated 13014 runs in his International career which including 57 runs for ICC World XI.
