The people of Pakistan are delighted to witness top notch cricket being played in the country. After a forced sabbatical of 8 years, cricket finally returned to the nation after PCB in association with the ICC managed to get top players from different countries to play a 3-match T20 series in Pakistan.

The general category tickets were sold out in a jiffy, leaving only the higher priced tickets up for grabs. Not many people were interested in the higher priced ones and later, Najam Sethi accepted that the PCB made a mistake in pricing the tickets for a very steep price.

Recently, according to an editor of Pak Passion, a local barber in Pakistan has promised to offer free haircuts for one year to the person who could get him a ticket for the deciding game of the series which is scheduled to kick off on Friday. The barber hails from Bahawalpur city in the Punjab province and couldn’t grab a ticket to witness history at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Zaheer Abbas says home games significant for younger players

The PCB is now hoping to invite countries for bilateral series in the coming months for a successful reintegration of international cricket in the country. Former batting great Zaheer Abbas explained the importance of playing at home for the younger players in the squad. According to him, performing in front of the home crowds make a player feel like a hero, an attribute which was denied to many youngsters in the team as they had to play their home games in the UAE, which was the adopted home of Pakistan since 2010.

”This generation indeed has missed that. Playing at home and performing well makes you feel like a hero,” said Abbas.

Since the grievous attack on the Sri Lanka team in March 2009, no country has toured Pakistan with the exception of Zimbabwe, who played a short series in 2015. The limited overs series, however, was not approved by the ICC.
