Virat Kohli has been on a run-churning spree and opponents have found it almost impossible to curb him from wielding his magic. The Delhi-born cricketer is currently playing the five-match ODI series against Windies and has turned out to be a brute force to reckon with. In the first match, he scored 140 off merely 107 balls and helped his team chase down a 300 plus score.
The second match turned out to be even more memorable for the 29-year-old as he became the fastest batsman to 10,000 ODI runs, surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. He also scored 157 runs in the first innings, albeit India couldn’t get over the finishing line. Following his masterclass, the experienced campaigner was praised from every nook and corner of the world.
Compton questions the other Indian players
In the third match at MCA Stadium in Pune, Virat became the first Indian batsman to score three consecutive ODI centuries. This time around his knock couldn’t save India from a 43-run defeat. Part-time off-break bowler Marlon Samuels got rid of the top order batsmen. His wicket also pulled the curtains down on India’s probable chances of a triumph.
In the meantime, Nick Compton, the English batsman, reckons Kohli as an incredible player and said that his personality helps him to bring the best out of him. But he isn’t convinced with the application of the other players. His comments may have come for the reason that the other Indian batsman couldn’t deliver the goods in the previous encounter.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “Virat Kohli is a great player – of that there is no doubt – his personality gets the best out of himself however can the same be said of his team mates? I’m not convinced,”
