India stood tall against New Zealand’s pacers on day two of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. The opening stand was set up firmly by Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill who dominated the pace attack in the initial hours of the game. However, currently, India’s skipper Virat Kohli and Ajinkya are holding the fort for the nation. In the same light, former cricket Wasim Jaffer has come up with interesting advice for them.

Jaffer has suggested the Indian batsmen to bat with a ‘Ghajini-like’ mindset. He wants Kohli and Rahane to forget the bowlers’ good deliveries and focus on the current scenario. The famous Bollywood movie ‘Ghajini’ revolved around a business tycoon who had a short-term memory loss issue. The former cricketer noted that the India duo got beaten by a few deliveries by Kiwi pacers but he wants them to continue with their plans.

“Their mindset should be a bit like Ghajini’s as well because it’s very important to forget the previous deliveries. In England’s conditions, it will often happen that you will play and miss an excellent delivery, which we also saw with Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli. I feel that you need to have that mindset where you can forget the last ball and focus on the next,” said Jaffer on his Youtube channel.

Talking about the match on day 2 of the WTC final, India got off to a great start when openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill displayed a classy form against New Zealand’s pace attack. It looked like at least of them will fetch big numbers but the plan failed and both of them returned to the pavilion in a short span.

India’s reliable man Cheteshwar Pujara also couldn’t add any good to the scoreboard as he scored eight runs off 54 balls. After him, India’s captain and vice-captain took hold of the pitch and are currently battling it out for the nation. It will be a thing to see if both the teams get to play full day on day three.
