6. Graham Gooch (England) v Australia in 1993
Graham Gooch, the English batsman with 67,057 runs across first-class and limited-overs games perhaps would have never thought that he would be dismissed in this manner. He was batting on 133 in a Test at Old Trafford when a Merv Hughes’ delivery came his way. He was good to defend the ball, but the ball kept moving towards the stump. This prompted the Englishman to punch the ball away. The Aussies appealed and Gooch was sent packing. This became the only instance when a batsman was given out for handling the ball after notching up a century.
