Months later, in the same year, world cricket saw another similar dismissal in a Test match between India and England at Bangalore. Vaughan, who looked settled at the crease with 64 runs, was facing Sarandeep Singh. He swept the ball which didn’t hit his bat but took a slight knick on his pads. The ball rolled along the ground. It was certainly not going towards the stumps, but an instinctive Vaughan brushed the ball aside only to be given out handling the ball. But unlike other players who have got out to this method, Vaughan was sporting enough to later admit his mistake and quoted  ‘I got it all wrong, I’m an idiot.’
