The players in BBL are independent and empowered to act as they deem fit for their career considering their capabilities and opportunities.
5. Kane Richardson from Strikers to Renegades
Pace spearhead Kane Richardson has decided to join the Melbourne Renegades for the next five seasons of the BBL after finishing as the leading wicket-taker for his former outfit Adelaide Strikers in the first 6 seasons.
Richardson scooped seven wickets in just 3 matches for the Australians during their tour of India when flown in as cover for Ashton Agar who was injured. Richardson seems like a good acquisition considering his recent form and overall success in the league considering the recent loss of Peter Siddle.
Renegades coach Andrew McDonald made the following statements about the signing:
“It will be great to have Richo(Richardson) in red and doing an important job for us. He’s aggressive with the white ball and a very good set of hands in the field which is hugely important under the pressure of the T20 environment.”
