Defeating the Hobart Hurricanes has been quite a task for all the other teams in this edition of the BBL. There is some sheer domination on display as the Hurricanes lost only one game out of nine so far. It will be the turn of the Sydney Sixers to test their fortunes when they take on the points table leaders in the 40th game of the tournament.

This is quite a special game for the Sixers. They have teamed up with the Sony Foundation, to champion the works of their ‘You Can’ program and the work they do with young cancer patients to provide support throughout their treatment. The team will also don special jerseys honouring young cancer patients and survivors. Furthermore, there will be a number of fundraising activities that will be conducted during the game.

These two teams stand at the top two positions on the points table currently. With impressive wins in their respective previous games, they’ll be quite positive going into this encounter. The teams clearly will have laid their eyes on the semi-final berth and will push hard for a win.

Pitch and Conditions

The track at the Sydney Cricket Ground is a good one to bat on once the batsmen settle in. It has got enough on offer for the bowlers as well and is a true sporting deck. The weather is pleasant enough even though the humidity is on the extreme. The track might speed up in the second innings.
