Brisbane Heat confirmed their berth in the playoffs after clinching a thriller against the Perth Scorchers on Tuesday. Chris Lynn handed a perfect start to the Brisbane team smashing a 25-ball 51 but the scoring rate came down with the pitch getting slower. Brisbane finished with only 181/7 after scoring just 85 runs in the final ten overs. Scorchers started the chase with an explosive opening stand before Marnus Labuschagne’s 3-wicket haul choked them. Mitchell Marsh went for an improbable win as he smashed an unbeaten 26-ball 54 but fell 7 runs short of the target.

Here are all the statistical highlights from Brisbane Heat’s 6-run win during the HEA vs SCO game:

Contrasting records at the Adelaide Oval:

5 – Brisbane Heat won as many as five matches out of the eight games they played at the Adelaide Oval; the joint-most number of wins in the BBL for any team at this venue other than the Adelaide Strikers. Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder won five games apiece here but featured in nine matches.

6 – Perth Scorchers lost six of the nine matches they played at the Adelaide Oval which are the most in the BBL by any team at this venue other than the Strikers. Hobart Hurricanes are next on this list with five defeats across 8 appearances.

Labuschagne’s all-round show:

1 – Marnus Labuschagne scored 46 runs, took three wickets and also claimed a catch during the HEA vs SCO game. No player before Labuschagne had scored 40+ runs and also took 3+ wickets in the same Big Bash League game.

Record season for Lynn:

420 – Runs Chris Lynn has amassed in the BBL 2020-21; the first-ever instance of Lynn breaching the 400-run mark in an edition of BBL. Lynn is also the first player to score 400+ runs in a BBL edition for Brisbane Heat. The previous most runs in a BBL season for the Brisbane franchise was 397 runs by Luke Pomersbach in 2012-13 season.

5 – Lynn has registered as many as five fifties across ten matches he played in the BBL 2020-21. This is the first-ever instance of any player from Brisbane Heat scoring five or more 50+ scores in a single edition of the BBL.

Tough game with the ball for Fawad and Steketee:

52 – Fawad Ahmed became the first spinner to conceded 50+ runs in a BBL game for the Perth Scorchers as he conceded 52 runs during his four overs in the HEA vs SCO game. The 52 runs conceded by Fawad are also the most by any Scorchers’ bowler in a BBL game in the past three seasons.

54 – The 54 runs conceded by Mark Steketee during the HEA vs SCO game are the 3rd most in a BBL game for the Brisbane Heat. Ben Laughlin gave away 60 runs in the 2019-20 season also against Perth Scorchers and also conceded 56 runs in only 3.5 overs earlier this season against Sydney Thunder.
